KODAK MOMENTS // HELENS BAY // #2

I have been thinking a lot about what I will make of this blog and vlogging in years to come. I had a go at the vlogging game a few years ago and I cringe so bad when I look back at them. Not quite so much at what the videos feature, but more so at any part that includes me talking. I thought that over time I would get over that and start to feel more at ease to talking in front of the camera, and that listening back to my own voice would be quite cool in years to come, but I just don't think that will ever be true.

So instead I am giving it a go with a twist. I love the idea of all of the content being 100%my own, or at least collaborative. I don't want to rip off other YouTubers, because I don't care for looking super polished, or trendy; and to be dead frank, I just don't have the time to be pouring hours into a couple of minutes of film. Don't get me wrong, I am trying to learn how to make professional feel films for university, and I imagine that over time and learning about that for my degree that I will pick up a few tips and tricks along the way that will hopefully make the vlogging game more appealing. Eh, we'll see. God I sound like such a Negative Nancy.

Here in this video my chummies and I took a impromptu trip to Helens Bay, which is just a short drive outside of Belfast. I don't think I spend enough time adventuring in my free time when I really should plan more trips in the outdoors, but sure that is one of my resolutions for this year! Neil and I quickly recorded a cover of Fall Back Down by Rancid to play over the video after I had put it together. It's been fun dipping my toes in other friend's interests in music and playing around with covers, even if I am ruining them for everyone else; sorry about that.

I'm getting excited about the adventures that February will bring. I'm really concentrating hard on my studies this year and spending an awful lot of time working, so I think it will be even more vital that I get out and about and see the world, instead of being cooped up in the studios staring at a screen.
Anyway, a short video for today.
